This unusual brooch features a 15x11mm oval shaped cabochon turquoise, claw set within five graduating half moon shaped rows of 63 round brilliant cut diamonds, all claw set in 18 carat white gold mounts. The five diamond rows are followed by a further four graduating half moon shaped rows, claw set with 62 round turquoise cabochons all mounted in 18 carat yellow gold. The oval cabochon together with the nine gradual rows of gemstones resemble a peacock’s tail giving this brooch a stylish and exquisite look. On either side of the ‘peacock’s tail’ are two 18 carat white gold curved ribbons, together inlaid with 44 baguette cut diamonds. The diamonds come to a total approximate weight of 7.60ct. Finally, the brooch is finished with an 18 carat gold secure pin fastening and weighs 33.7 grams. Circa 1960’s.
